Bivariate Choropleth Map
This is a bivariate choropleth map because it uses two variables, firearm deaths and states. Due to the fact that choropleth maps utilize color shading to depict certain values that are proportionate to the data, this map uses the color range from yellow to orange to red. The closer the state is to the color of yellow represents a low number of deaths per 100,000 population whereas the closer the state is to the color of red represents a high number of deaths per 100,000 population.
